For those of you who don't know what it means to Go Green, here it is!
Going green is the pursuit of knowledge and practices that can lead to more environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible decisions and lifestyles, which can help protect the environment and sustain its natural resources for current and future generations.
Going Green is becoming "the thing to do" worldwid, and hey what could be more fulfilling than saving the planet, reserving the goods into fashion and being healthy all in one?
This past Saturday I volunteered as a dresser for DC's Green Festival Fashion Fights Poverty fashion show. A Designer by the name of Elizabeth showcased her Eco bridal collection which featured white wedding gowns and unique head pieces that were all eco friendly, made from recycled fabrics.
The show was sponsored by the non-profit ethical eco organization "Fashion Fights Poverty".
This was my first real taste (literally) of the "Green" world. As I browsed the Green Festival, I came across some pretty cool stuff from organic hair products, handmade soaps and all natural juices and foods. The smells of organic coconut oils and wheat grass would frown up the faces of most but I was actually intrigued by this community of people who have blossomed by sharing one interest, preserving the planet!
I'm slowly but surely heading towards the Green side, what about you?
Peace, Love & Green
